Situation

VMware is the market leader in datacenter virtualization. But now, it needed a story to elevate and build awareness about its cloud strategy and solutions. It was important that this story both celebrate and acknowledge the value existing customers have had with VMware to-date, yet also build excitement about future cloud-based opportunities.

The Cloud Platform Business Unit called on Sappington to create this story, to be used as part of C-level executive customer conversations. The deck needed to allow for a high degree of personalization, to allow sellers to have candid conversations with customers about their VMware relationship past, present, and future.

Results

The Cloud Platform Business Unit team now has a highly engaging, high-impact visual story to connect VMware’s past and future strategy, and build excitement around it’s cloud strategy and new products for the cloud. The story illustrates to customers the extent of the value they’ve gained from VMware and sets up space to discuss opportunities for future value, and deepen existing customer relationships. To help sellers in quickly adopting the presentation, Sappington also provided a presenter script with a narrative detailing the flow of the slides and opportunities to tailor points to each individual customer.
